"Now, we are looking at larger platform for the blind cricketers in the state with a slew of events in next nine months," said Vinod Patel, president of Cricket Association for the Blind, Gujarat, based in Valsad.
Patel told media on Thursday at the Blind People's Association (BPA) that in November there will be a national championship for the blind in Gujarat.
"We want to identify more talents like Ketan Patel and are launching a campaign from August for the purpose as we have a number of cricket experts and our players have performed consistently well at national and international levels," said Dilip Jogari, secretary of the association.
