AHMEDABAD: In the first case of its kind in Gujarat, Karachi-based gangster Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar, and Dubai-based Abu Salem have been declared ''Wanted'' in a 1996 case of arms and RDX seizure in Mehsana.
According to Superintendent of police AK Sharma, three persons were arrested in this case with 115 Pakistani-made pistols and four kgs of RDX from near the Radhanpur chowkdi on the highway.
The accused, identified as Mohammad Fazal Mohammad Usman from Ajmer, one ''Qureishi'' and Shakeel Ibrahim alias Pappu have been sentenced to life imprisonment in this case. But during the investigations, they said in their statements that the arms were supplied to them by Dawood and Salem and four other gangsters to be given to someone in Mumbai.
The arms and explosives had been supplied from across the border and the men were only carriers they said.
