Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani felicitates litterateurs and educationists

GANDHINAGAR: Chief Minister Vijay Rupani felicitated noted litterateur Dr. Kumarpal Desai, educationist Dr. C.L. Patel of Charutar Vidya Mandal on receiving the Kanjibhai Desai Gujarat Pratibha Awards at a function at Gujarat Vidyapith on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Rupani said that it is not just the felicitation of two stalwarts but also of culture and educational excellence, Gujarat is the land of Narsinh Mehta and Narmad.

Describing them as tapasvi, he said this award is in recognition of their valuable contribution to the state and the society, to inspire the future generations for years to come. He said that infrastructure facility is not the only parameter of development but also its culture and excellence in the field of education.
The Chief Minister said the State Government is keen to uphold the esteem of Gujarat, and also its achievements in the field of education, also keen to improve the skills of youth and to make them employable. He also released six books authored by Dr Kumarpal Desai.
Responding to the felicitation, Dr. Desai said he is happy to receive the award as a result of translating his inherent nature into efforts. He is happy to have spread perfume from his service to the field of literature.
Dr. Patel dedicated this award to the constant support he had received from the principals, teachers and students of the huge Charutar Vidya Mandal campus.
While Dr. Patel expressed his inability to accept Rs. One lakh cash that goes with the award as it was against the values he cherished, Dr. Desai donated his award money of Rs. one lakh to Vishwa Kosh Trust.
Others who spoke on the occasion included litterateur Raghuvir Chaudhry, Krishnakant Vakharia and Vishnubhai Pandya of Vishwa Gujaratri Samaj.
