Ahmedabad: The Glorious Gujarat team of women won the inaugural edition of Football Premier League for Blind hosted in the city.
The men's title was won by Northeast United, said organizers. The event saw participation from eight teams from across India. Winners received cash awards and a trophy.
The event was jointly held by the Indian Blind Football Federation and Blind People's Association (BPA). The inaugural session on Monday was attended by commissioner for disabilities, Vishnu Rajput; charity commissioner Rajendra Vyas and BPA president Rajendra Shah, among others. Organizers said that the event, played according to international rules, will be a platform for talented players.
