AHMEDABAD: A bookie was arrested by crime branch sleuths on Friday night. Snehal Shah, 45, was betting on the
IPL semi-final played between Kings XI Punjab and

Police seized a Mercedes Benz car, Rs 1.4 lakh cash, a laptop, two mobile phones, including an iPhone, from his possession. "Shah's interrogation revealed that he was in touch with three other bookies - Subham, Yogesh and Mihir," said crime branch officials.
According to ACP (crime) M D Chaudhary, Shah is into business of car modification. "He has also been into betting racket for four years. Earlier, he had shifted to Mumbai but returned to the city recently. Since the beginning of IPL, he was taking bets." said Chaudhary.
Acting on specific information, a team of inspector R B Rana and sub-inspector J N Jhala raided Shah's residence and found him taking betting from punters.
Crime branch officials said Shah, who lives with his wife, is fond of luxurious cars. "He has a Mercedes, a Nissan and a Chevrolet car with him. He has also got a pet Rottweiler, so we had to be careful while entering his bungalow," said crime branch officials.
