Ahmedabad: The Border Security Force has again requested Pakistan Rangers to take the dead body of a 13-year-old boy which was found close to pillar No. 1080 near Biar Bet in Kutch. Senior BSF officials stressed that they have strong reasons to believe that the boy is Pakistani: his body was found near the border pillar, but outside the barbed-wire fence standing about 200 metres inside the border with Pakistan.
The body was found on the morning of May 14. Pakistan Rangers had refused to take the body because the boy had not been circumcised; the circumcision ritual is considered mandatory among Muslims. DIG BSF D K Badola said Pakistan Rangers had been allowed to examine the body during an earlier flag meeting. "They had turned around the body of the boy who had been found face down near a culvert," Badola said.
Badola said another flag meeting with the rangers had been requested for Wednesday. "They have not responded. The body is still lying in the morgue," he said. Four flag meetings have been held between BSF and Pakistan Rangers from May 14 and 15.
