The syndicate elections this time saw an unprecedented BJP presence and even BJP office bearers and municipal corporators arrived at the MSU campus to campaign for their selected members.
This time the MSU elections have thrown up big names as losers including Jung Bahadur Rajput, who lost by two votes, I I Pandya and Narendra Parmar amongst others.
During voting, minor disturbance occurred after Pandya protested that some BJP supporters were leading voters into the booth and were "guiding" them to caste their mandate in favour of particular candidates. This forced the vice-chancellor to intervene and bring back normalcy.
