AHMEDABAD: Sarkhej police station officials on Friday finally registered a case of accidental death in Akshay Prajapati suicide case after his father Kanu Prajapati refused to lodge a complaint against school authorities.

Limbadiya had admonished the boy for keeping a love letter in his pocket and called his parents to school.
"We've taken Prajapati's statement, but he does not want to lodge any complaint against the school authorities. Following which, we had no option but to term it as an accidental death," said Sarkhej police station inspector DJ Trivedi.
Trivedi added that on the fateful day Akshay had locked himself in his room after coming back from the school. But when he did not come out to attend his tuition class, his nephew Sunil went up to his room to check.
"When he got response after repeated knocking, Sunil looked from the shaft of room's window and saw Akshay hanging from the ceiling. He then alerted his family members," Trivedi said. "Though the suicide has been termed as an accidental death, we will continue our investigation and take action against any one found guilty in this case," he added.
Meanwhile, officials from village district education office and district education office visited Sarvajanik Shala and met students, teachers, principal and other authorities. However, they refused to divulge any details of the meeting. Sources said the officials took the statement of Limbadiya and Prajapati.
However, defending the teachers education officer MP Trivedi, said, "In every other case, if school teachers or principal are held responsible, teachers will be deterred from reprimand erring students."
