AJMER: A 25-year-old man killed his mother by stabbing her more than 80 times just because she wanted to go to attend a marriage at her brother's house in Pur town of Bhilwara. Police sent the body for post-mortem and arrested the youth on Friday before producing him in court.
According to Pur SHO Puranmal Meena, the incident took place on Thursday evening in the house of Shanker Lal in Bishnoi Mohalla.
Lal went out to the market and his wife Manju (46) was preparing and packing her bag to go to her brother's house in same town to attend a marriage. Police said at that time, Sunil came and asked her mother not to go to the marriage. But Manju was adamant and that she had to attend the function. "There was a heated argument between the mother and her son. Sunil lost his cool and brought a kitchen knife and stabbed her," said police.
After the incident, Sunil fled but police arrested him on Friday. Police said Sunil stabbed her mother more than 80 times.
"We produced the accused in the court from where he was sent to jail," added police.
Shanker is a farmer and Sunil has done a computer course but was unemployed.
Vinod, brother of deceased and residing in Pur town, lodged an FIR against the accused. Police also recovered the knife which Sunil used to stabbed his mother.
