Allahabad district wins bodybuilding championship

JAUNPUR: Allahabad district was declared the overall champion in the Eastern UP Bodybuilding Championship held at Jaunpur. More than 180 bodybuilders from different districts participated in the championship that was organised for different weight categories. In 0-50kg weight category, Naveen Sonkar of Allahabad bagged the silver medal while in 60-65kg weight category, Mohammad Aftab Ryen won the silver medal. In 65-70kg, Osama Ansari clinched the gold and in 85kg, Ujjwal Srivastava won the silver medal. President of Allahabad Bodybuilding Association Shaikh Tauqeer Ahmad congratulated the medal winners.
Exhibition: A contemporary fashion and lifestyle exhibition 'Indo-Pak Adaah' will be held at hotel Kanha Shyam, Civil Lines on June 14-15. Organiser Arif Khan said stalls from all over India and Pakistan displaying designer apparel, jewellery, chanderis, cottons, home décor, Pakistani suits, home furnishing, designer suits and footwear will be put up.
Awarded: Taruna Nishad, a student of BCom III year of Allahabad University has been awarded University Kayaking and Canoeing Color for the session 2012-2013.
Function: Under the banner of Bahadur Shah Zafar Memorial Committee, UP with its president Haji Shafiqur Rahman in chair, a function was held on Wednesday to remember freedom fighters and martyrs of the country. Such functions will he held all over June.
Inaugurated: In its efforts towards providing hassle-free banking by giving uninterrupted services, State Bank of India has added one more ATM at South camp, Air Force Station, Bamrauli. The ATM was inaugurated by the Station Commmander Sartaj Bedi in the presence of regional manager Ashwani Darbari, budget officer Chetan Anand and branch manager Bamrauli branch Shefali Agarwal. Air Force personnel were present at the venue.
