ALLAHABAD: The Allahabad high court on Monday reserved its order on a writ petition filed by former general secretary of Samajwadi Party and MP, Amar Singh. He had filed a writ petition in the high court challenging an FIR registered against him in a police station in Babupurva, Kanpur.
A bench consisting of Justice Imtiyaz Murtaza and Justice S S Tiwari reserved the order after hearing the senior supreme court counsel Ram Jethmalani, who appeared in this case on behalf of Amar Singh.

A social worker of Kanpur, Shivakant Tripathi, had lodged an FIR against Singh alleging that the MP had embezzled several crores of rupees while working as chairman of UP Development Council during the last SP government.
The petitioner, Amar Singh, had challenged the validity of the FIR.
