ALLAHABAD: An urgent meeting of the corporators of Allahabad Municipal Corporation was held in the corporators room on Friday. The corporators pulled up the Jal Sansthan administration for not taking keen interest in solving the water scarcity and checking the supply of contaminated water in some localities of the city. The also expressed resentment over the persistent hike in the rate of water tax and charges.
The corporators urged that rate of water tax should be applied in accordance with the slab rates that were passed by the Jal Sansthan Board without causing any burden on the denizens.

The corportaors also devised strategy to start public struggle in view of the meeting of the Jal Sansthan Board which is scheduled to take place on June 1. The corportaors also demanded that the cuts made in the grant given to the Allahabad Municipal Corporation under the Second Finance Commission should be immediately withdrawn by the State government.
The corporators who participated in the meeting included Umesh Dwivedi, Shiv Sewak Singh, Mohd. Muslim, Kamlesh Singh, Anand Ghildiyal, Abha Dwivedi, Kusum Lata Gupta, Mohd. Azam, Chandra Prakash, Anita yadav, Shiva Tripathi, Rajiv arya, Anita yadav and others.
