ALLAHABAD: A meeting of the corporators of Allahabad Municipal Corporation was held on Thursday in which the hike of about two per cent in house tax was welcomed. Corporators have urged municipal commissioner Ashok Kumar to implement the unanimous decision that was taken during the house meeting on Wednesday.
Speaking in the meeting, corporators alleged that the officers of Allahabad Municipal Corporation are not interested in implementing the decision that is being taken during the house meeting.

They have also alleged that some of the corrupt officers of the AMC are harassing house owners and extracting money under the pretext of disposal of objection received during the assessment of the house tax.
Participating in the meeting, Shiv Sewak Singh, senior corporator of AMC urged municipal commissioner Ashok Kumar to take steps for preparation of the bills of the house tax as per the resolution of the house meeting giving a meagre hike of about two per cent in the house tax. He has also urged the people of the city that they should not pay the house tax until they received the bill in accordance with the resolution passed.
The corporators who participated in the meeting included Kamlesh Singh, Mohd. Muslim, Mohd. Azam, Umesh Dwivedi, Uttam Kumar, Kusum Lata Gupta, Shiva Tripathi, Mukund Tiwari and others.
