Retailers submit memo to DM over online trading
Prayagraj: Irked over the issue of ever increasing online trading and its adverse impact on the local business, a delegation of Prayag Vyapar Mandal submitted a memorandum, addressed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to the district magistrate Sanjay Kumar Khatri on Tuesday.“While on the one hand the policies of the Prime Minister are benefiting all the classes in the country, but due to some selective big industrialists, about 7 crore small retail traders are being directly affected due to online trading and are on the verge of closure,” said district president of the body, Mohamad Qadir. However, the protest remained confined to holding public meeting as markets like Civil Lines, Katra and Chowk remained open.Acting president of Prayag Vyapar Mandal Rana Chawla, general secretary Sohail Ahmed, senior vice president Arun kesarwani, senior vice president Sushil Kharbanda, district president Mohmad Qadir, Gurcharan Arora Channi, Sardar Jatinder Moakaram, Sardar Pritam Singh, Shivshankar Singh and others were present.
