ALLAHABAD: Ruckus was created inside a local cinema hall in Mutthigunj area on Wednesday when a group of activists belonging to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad staged demonstration during the matinee show of the film - London Dreams - demanding a ban on a controversial song in the film.
As per reports, the VHP activists led by the district secretary reached the Gautam Cinema Hall where the matinee show of the film - London Dreams - was going on.
The VHP activists raised slogans against the film producer and the Censor Board demanding the ban of the religious song in which cinestar Salman Khan has performed a dance sequence. However, they were refrained from entering the cinema hall by the police present on the spot who resorted to a mild lathicharge and chased away the protesters from the spot.
The SHO, Mutthigunj said that later on the VHP activists handed over a memorandum demanding omission of the controversial song and dance sequence from the film which is being screened here. He immediately called the manager of the cinema hall who agreed to omit the song and dance sequence in the film from Thursday onwards after which the protesters left the spot and normalcy was restored inside the cinema hall.
