Body of 7 year old girl who went missing four days ago found at a local water body near Punganur

TIRUPATI: In a tragic development, the body of a seven year old girl, who went missing about four days ago at Punganur, was found afloat a local water body near Chittoor on Wednesday.
According to the Punganur police, the deceased was identified as Asfiya Azam, and the girl who was playing around her house went missing on September 29.
While the Punganur police lodged a missing complaint after the girl's father Azmatullah approached them, and were hopeful of finding the girl, her body was found floating in the SS tank near Chittoor on Wednesday.
After the deceased's family members identified that it was Asfiya Azam, the girl's body was shifted to the govt general hospital for postmortem.
And after the completion of the postmortem formalities, the victim's body was handed over to the family and final rites were performed at Punganur on Wednesday.
Punganur police stated that the investigation into this mysterious case will be intensified and that the postmortem report was essential to ascertain the actual cause of death to arrive at a conclusion whether the girl was murdered.
