Andhra Pradesh: Daily Covid-19 cases cross 3,000 mark in Chittoor district

Daily Covid-19 cases in Chittoor district crossed the 3000 cases mark on Friday, causing concern in the district medical and health administration of Chittoor district.

TIRUPATI: Daily Covid-19 cases in Chittoor district crossed the 3000 cases mark on Friday, causing concern in the district medical and health administration of Chittoor district.
Though the partial curfew has been imposed in totality across the district from 12 noon to 6 am daily, there has been no respite at all as nearly 3000 Covid-19 cases are being reported in Chittoor district every single day going by the official records itself.

Tirupati rural and urban areas accounted for 424 cases out of the 3063 fresh Covid-19 cases reported in Chittoor district in the last 24 hours.
Chittoor urban, Kuppam, Madanapalle, Santhipuram, Punganur and several other mandals are also reeling under the grips of the second wave Covid-19 with 50 plus fresh cases being reported across the rural pockets of Chittoor district every single day.
While Chittoor district collector M Hari Narayana has been closely monitoring the situation, joint collector N Rajasekhar held a review with the representatives of various NGOs at the DRDO hall in Chittoor on Friday to discuss and chalk out various strategies to effectively combat the Covid-19 second wave.
