TIRUPATI: Kadapa district police wing have recovered 555 stolen/lost mobile phones worth approximately Rs 1.8 crore as part of their "Operation mobile shield".
Kadapa SP V Harshavardhan Raju stated that such a large scale mobile phone recovery was possible with the use of advanced technology, network surveillance and data analytics techniques.
Harshavardhan Raju added that about 4068 stolen/lost mobile phones worth approximately Rs 7.4 crore were recovered in five phases so far by the district police wing.
"The success of operation mobile shield can be attributed to advanced digital forensics, GPS tracking, IMEI tracing and other cyber surveillance tools," he added.
The mobile phones recovered in the fifth phase were handed over back to the complainants and the rightful owners by the Kadapa SP.
