TIRUPATI: The foundation stone for Sri Balaji temple in Mumbai to be constructed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will be laid on June 7. It will be the first TTD temple in Maharashtra.
TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy invited Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde for the bhumi puja of the temple. The trust will construct the replica of Tirupati Balaji temple in Mumbai.

The proposal was made a couple of years ago.
In April 2022, Maharashtra government allocated 10 acres of land in Sector 12 of Ulwe node in Navi Mumbai to the TTD to construct Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple. The land is close to the upcoming international airport in Navi Mumbai. The approximate value of the land is said to be 500 crore. According to Tirupati trust, the construction of the new temple will be taken up with donor-devotees' support. The TTD has estimated the construction cost at about 70 crore.
