AURANGABAD: The commissioner of police on Friday directed the Jinsi police to initiate action against three members of a family in Nagsen Colony who had threatened a school in their neighbourhood against conducting Republic Day programme. A complaint was lodged at the police commissionorate by, on Thursday evening.
In his complaint to the commissioner of police Rajender Singh, in charge principal of Supreme Global School - Parvez Aziz Sabir - stated that three members of a family that resides beside the school, have been allegedly threatening the school staff asking them to refrain from observing Republic Day celebrations. The suspects have been taking strong objection to the rehearsals of the cultural programmes being carried out at the school, stated the complaint.
Parvez said, “The trio do not want us to celebrate Republic Day and this not the first time, earlier too during August 15 preparations, the same people had raised objection to the celebrations. When we went ahead with the scheduled programmes, they lodged false complaints against us with the education department as well as the zilla parishad. We have come out clean in all these false complaints.”
He said that a couple of days back the suspects pelted stones at the students rehearsing for the event and later used abusive language with the school staff.
The school has claimed that due to the threats and stone-pelting, they have been forced to stop the rehearsals and were planning to simply conduct the flag hoisting and cancel the other programmes.
Commissioner of police Rajender Singh said, “This is a serious case of somebody thinking of obstructing a school from observing Republic Day. I have asked the Jinsi police station inspector to personally look into the matter and initiate action accordingly.”
