BAREILLY: Rahat Ali, 32, of Palia town who had gone to attend a wedding in Lakhimpur Kheri's Bansinagar village, adjacent to Dudhwa forests, got the shock of his life the next morning when he went to relieve himself in the open near a canal. A crocodile suddenly emerged and attacked him.
The reptile tried to drag Ali inside deep water but he resisted and shouted for help.
A few locals working in a nearby field rushed to help Ali and rescued him. The crocodile disappeared into the canal.
Ali was immediately taken to the community health centre, where his condition is stable.
A forest department team that rushed to the spot could not find the crocodile.
