“On Saturday morning, my son fell ill, and I decided to visit a doctor in Sambhal. My wife and sister-in-law Neeraj (21) insisted that they would come along for shopping in Sambhal, and they — Om Prakash, Geeta, their two kids and Neeraj — left for Sambhal on a motorcycle. We first visited the doctor and then finished shopping,” said Om Prakash.
“When we were on our way back to Sarthalkheda, a speeding truck hit the motorcycle and crushed Neeraj before the truck driver fled with the vehicle,” he added.
After receiving information, Kotwali station house officer (SHO) Dharmpal Singh rushed to the spot and also informed the emergency ambulance service to take the injured hospital.
SHO said, “All four injured persons are out of danger and the body was sent for autopsy. We have registered an FIR against unidentified truck driver under section 304A (culpable homicide) and 337 (rash driving) of IPC.”
