18-yr-old kills brother, tries to pass it off as accident

BANGALORE: Taking revenge for a past scuffle, a 19-year-old boy bludgeoned his older brother to death. Later he took the body outside, conducted prayers and told everyone that his brother died in an accident.
But luck was not on the side of Gangadhar, who was arrested by Basaveshwaranagar police on Friday, for murdering his brother Muni, 21, in their Kamala Nagar residence.
Investigating officers said the brothers lived with their father Chandrappa in a leased house. The brothers used to have constant arguments and even brawls. In one such fight, Muni hit Gangadhar on the head and the latter was furious about that.
Early on Friday, Chandrappa and his sons were drunk and the brothers got into a fight again. This time, Gangadhar used a stone grinder and hit Chandrappa on the head. Chandrappa who is not mentally sound, was unable to react to what was happening.
Around 7.30am, Gangadhar took the body outside the house, covered it with a white cloth, lit incense sticks around it and told everyone that Muni had died in an accident.
However some neighbours smelled something fishy. They entered the house and found blood splattered all over and called police.
