Nobody wishes to listen to speeches these days; they find them boring. The one sure-shot way to make people listen to what you want to say and raise an issue against it is through music. Music has a way of telling and making people realize things. In fact, nowadays, one comes across a lot of protest music being made in every industry, be it by popular artists or budding artists.
Kishore Eska, a rapper and music composer has done the same with his recent song, Beep Magane.

It raises awareness on women’s safety and offers a solution to rape. The idea of making a rap song on these topics struck him when a popular Malayalam actress was abducted. “This song is about what a girl feels after she is raped. We have all been discussing what the cause for rape is. But none of us have ever pondered over what the solution could be,” says Kishore. The song is dedicated to all the women out there who have faced molestation, groping and acid attacks, in their lives.

Women are not supposed to be told to carry pepper spray or not to work late nights or to cover their skin. She has always tried to protect herself and is still doing so. But it is the duty of her family to identify these beasts no matter who they are and bring them to light in society

The video portrays how women should not keep quiet and should fight back against men who try to harm them. It even has women standing with messages stating that ‘rape is ape’ and ‘have you evolved?’ “Women are not supposed to be told to carry pepper spray or not to work late nights or to cover their skin. She has always tried to protect herself and is still doing so. But it is the duty of her family to identify these beasts no matter who they are and bring them to light in society,” says Kishore
It has been two weeks since he has released this video. “I just hope that this helps people realize that what they are doing is wrong and that they are the ones responsible for it, not the women,” says Kishore.
