Begin work, CM tells new corporators

bangalore\tirupati: chief minister s.m. krishna on tuesday had a breakfast meeting with the newly-elected congress corporators of the bangalore city corporation. addressing the members, krishna is reported to have asked them to begin work in their respective wards at the earliest. the meeting was attended by karnataka pradesh congress committee president allum veerabhadrappa, party mp c.k.jaffer sharief and other leaders. later krishna left for tirupati. speaking to the times of india in tirupati krishna said the expectations of the bangalore people from the congress were high now. ``we have to live up to their expectations and develop bangalore,'' he added. krishna said bangalore could be further developed with coordinated efforts of all parties. asked about his visit to tirupati on the eve of diwali, krishna said: ``what better place than tirumala to celebrate diwali. i was planning to come here three months back.'' krishna is expected to perform the ``rahu ketu'' pooja to ward off evil, 30 km from tirupati on wednesday.
