BENGALURU: BBMP will be vigilant against the misuse of weddings and other cultural/religious functions for political campaigning.
BBMP chief commissioner Tushar Giri Nath said the model code of conduct is not applied to such functions, but there are chances of parties misusing the situation. So, BBMP will record such events when it gets information about politicians or parties being involved.
"Action will be initiated if there is any misuse," he said.
Giri Nath added that the Palike is developing a mobile app in association with the
Election Commission to help voters check the queue and parking slot availability at polling stations.
"The app will be ready in a week. It will be on for one week for testing purposes and will be ready for public use afterwards," he said. tnn
