<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">BANGALORE: CBI on Friday formally took over the investigation into ten cases registered in connection with the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam in Karnataka.<br /><br />The Karnataka government today handed over the cases which are being investigated by the STAMPIT to a team of CBI officials headed by Joint Director Archana Ramasundaram and DIG Prabhat Kumar, Karnataka Principal Secretary, Home department, K P Pandey told reporters here.<br /><br />Earlier, Archana and Prabhat Kumar held extensive discussions for more than an hour with Pandey, DGP T Madiyal and STAMPIT Chief Srikumar.<br /><br />Pandey and Srikumar briefed the CBI team about the STAMPIT investigations and 16 chargesheets filed in this connection.<br /><br />Pandey said discussions with CBI officials centred around making arrangements for the functioning of its investigating team including providing accommodation.<br /><br />The Supreme Court had ordered CBI to investigate all the 48 cases connected with the scam across the country.<br /><br />Karnataka government wrote to the CBI two months back, requesting it to investigate the scam.<br /><br /><formid=367815></formid=367815></div> </div>
