BENGALURU: Chief minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said the government will send a high-level ministerial delegation to meet the chief ministers of Goa and Maharashtra to resolve the Kalasa Banduri crisis. The CM said the delegation will either be headed by rural development and panchayat raj minister H K Patil or ITBT minister SR Patil. The team will try to persuade the neighbouring states for an out-of-court settlement.
Water resources minister MB Patil said the team will leave the day after the government files an application before the Mahadayi River Tribunal for utilization of 7tmcft of water from the Mahadayi river for drinking purpose in north Karnataka district.
Lokayukta impasse Earlier in the day, the BJP protested the Congress' decision to move an impeachment motion against Upa Lokayukta Justice Subash B Adi.
BJP accused the Congress of playing vendetta politics and trying to oust the Upa Lokayukta to shut down the quasi-judicial body. However, speaker Kagodu Thimmappa dismissed the protests and said he'll be impartial on the matter whenever it's taken up.
