<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">MANDYA: The future of 373 students of the school run by Mysore Acetate Education Society at Acetate Town is in jeopardy due to the plan to shift the school to Mandya city. The school, started in 1978 has 18 rooms and 14 teachers and houses classes from nursery to the 10th standard.<br />It also has English medium till seventh standard and was aided.
However, the management disintegrated and the student strength fell from 850 after the Acetate factory closed down four years ago.<br />The Vidya Vikasa Education Trust of Mysore, headed by former Mysore Mayor Vasu started a pre-university college at the Acetate Town here in 2001. The trust, which has a chain of educational institutions across the state has taken up the responsibility to run the school to avert inconvenience to the students.<br />Earlier, there was a school bus to ferry students and hence the attendence was even from neighbouring places as Hosabudanuru, Halebudanuru, Swarnasandra, Mandya, Guttal, Chikkamandya, Sathanur, Kommerahalli, Hankere, Gejjalagere and Sadolalu. However, the bus stopped with the closure of the factory and the student strength fell.<br />Headmistress of higher primary school K.R. Vasantha Kumari said there was a plan to relocate the school, except the primary school, to Mandya due the apathy of the management of the society. <br />Head of the high school M.S. Usha said it had caused a lot of inconvenience to parents as they had to send their children to far off schools. With the retaining of the school, children of the town and the neighbouring areas can avail education from nursery to PUC at one campus. <br />Principal of the PU college Mutaiah, overseeing the renovation and development of the school said the school can gain its past glory.<br /><span style="" font-weight:="" bold="">Actor''s birthday:</span> The 50th birth anniversary of popular film star and MP Ambarish would be celebrated at Sir M.
