BANGALORE: Commuters had a harrowing time on Wednesday morning as traffic was halted in several parts of the city. Traffic was thrown out of gear as many organizations and political parties staged procession.
Traffic was unbearable on the arterial KG Road, which leads to Kempegowda bus station and also from roads connecting City Centre (Bangalore south), after the KPCC took out two-wheeler rally.
Congress leader Siddaramaiah along with BBMP opposition leader M Nagaraj rode a two-wheeler, protesting BJP government's failures.
Meanwhile, Karnataka Dalit Sangarsha Samithi members also took out a peaceful rally urging the government to investigate into the death of a dalit woman in Tumkur. They took out a rally from Town Hall to Vidhana Soudha.
These protests resulted in roads, leading to Town Hall and K R Circle, being blocked for hours. As a result, several commuters on the surrounding roads such as JC Road, Nrupathunga Road and Sheshadri Road, witnessed slow traffic. Even Mayor Nataraj, who had taken a Volvo to his office due to Bus Day observation, was stuck in traffic for more than two hours.
