Bengaluru: Noted environmentalist 104-year-old Saalumarada Thimmakka, known for planting and nurturing 384 banyan trees on a 4-km stretch of the highway between Hulikal and Kudur, was admitted to Apollo Specialty Hospital in Jayanagar after she complained of mild abdominal pain and giddiness.
Dr Umesh N, medical superintendent of the hospital, said: "Her vital parameters are perfectly well but she has mild abdominal pain and had vomited the previous day.
She's on a liquid diet and IV fluids. We suspect it could have been gastric problem and gastroenterologists are examining her.
