BANGALORE: A 26-year-old software engineer with Satyam Mahindra allegedly hanged herself inside her paying guest accommodation in BTM Layout on Monday afternoon. Chaya Singh, a native of Jamshedpur, was found hanging from the ceiling fan hook, police said. The incident came to light when an occupant of the same PG alerted the owner Sherief after there was no response when she knocked on the locked door.
Sherief and others broke open the door and found Chaya hanging.
Her suicide note read: "No one is responsible for my death. I love all and I seek apology of my parents." But police are yet to determine the exact reason for the extreme step. Preliminary investigation revealed that Chaya had cancelled her train reservation to Delhi on Sunday. "She was to appear for the UPSC examination but decided not to write it this year," police said. Neighbours said Chaya joined them for lunch on Monday before retiring to her room. "She locked herself inside the room. Around 3pm, her friend knocked on the door and tried to call her on the cellphone but in vain. The body was shifted to Victoria Hospital where an autopsy will be conducted once her family arrives in the city.
