According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city experienced 6cm of rainfall from 8.30am to 5.30pm on Tuesday, which is just 33% of the record 179mm of rain recorded in a 24-hour period on October 1, 1997.
Expecting heavy rainfall in the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an ‘orange alert’ for Bengaluru and surrounding districts in south-interior Karnataka for Wednesday and Thursday.
