BENGALURU: A 26-year-old homemaker was found hanging from the ceiling of her house near Kengeri on Wednesday.
Acting on the complaint filed by the parents of
M Ranjita
, police arrested her husband
Manjunath on abetment-to-suicide charges.
Ranjita and Manjunath fell in love and got married in 2018 despite opposition from their parents. A few months ago, Ranjita gave birth to their second child and stayed with her parents for some time. Last week, she returned to her in-laws’ house.
“Ranjita was heard fighting with Manjunath over his alleged affair with another woman. On Wednesday morning, she was found hanging inside the house when Manjunath had stepped out for his morning walk. The incident came to light when a neighbour, who heard the couple’s child crying, walked into the house and found Ranjita hanging from the ceiling,” a police officer said.
