Bhopal: More Congress workers quit the party and joined the
BJP on Tuesday. State BJP on Tuesday claimed that 2,500 Congress workers from Shajapur district took primary membership of the BJP in the party state headquarters here in the presence of CM Yadav, state party president VD Sharma, former minister Narottam Mishra and cabinet minister Inder Singh Parmar.
Those who joined the party include Congress’ former district president of Shajapur Yogendra Singh Jadaun Bunty Bana, Agar Municipality chairman Nilesh Patel, former mandi president Chandersingh Mewada, Shajapur district Congress spokesperson Govind Sharma, district general secretary Vijendra Patidar and more than two thousand Congress party office-bearers, councilors, sarpanches and workers of the district.
CM Yadav, while welcoming the Congress leaders and workers into the party, said that this is Bharat Milap (the unity of India). “Today Lord Indra is pleased with this Bharat Milap and also gives light rain. You have left Congress in the same way as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose left Congress to liberate the country,” the chief minister said. “The joining of leaders and workers of other parties in the BJP family in such a large number together indicates that BJP will win more than 370 seats in LS and Narendra Modi will again become the Prime Minister of the country,” he added.
State BJP president VD Sharma said, “All of you have become members of a family and not a party. BJP works for united national policy. PM Modi is working to take India to its peak grandeur by making the country a developed nation by the year 2047.” tnn
