BHOPAL: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Bhopal unit, held a series of programme to pay homage to Bhopal gas tragedy victims through a series of programmes unit on Tuesday.
The BHEL employees and officials observed a 2-minute silence in memory of those killed in the tragedy. S Balakrishnan, general manager, electrical motors division, later briefed the gathering on the significance of safety.

Later, a "conference on safety at work place" was organized by safety engineering division in electrical machine division under which the employees of the shop were educated about the Bhopal Gas Tragedy. Highlighting the importance of the safety, Balakrishnan said a minor ignorance can result in a major accident.
Pradeep Sharma, deputy general manager, safety engineering division and Manoj Dikshit, member of the central safety committee of the employees' trade union (HESTU-HMS) also addressed the gathering.
