Chilled out summer: At 28.7, day temp 12 below normal

Bhopal: The day temperature of Bhopal hit a record low on Saturday. It was below the thirty degrees mark and was twelve degrees less than normal mark. Showers continued in the city and other places of the state for the fourth consecutive day. A similar weather was expected to prevail for the next few days.
Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle, said that there was a western disturbance and a cyclonic circulation was over Arabian Sea with a trough moving over Chhattisgarh from the Arabian Sea that is leading to moisture incursion in the state, The resultant showers could continue for the next few days, they said.
Day temperature in Bhopal on Saturday was 28.7 degree ccelsius, twelve degrees less than the normal mark, while night temperature was 19.5 degrees, which too was a good five degrees below normal. Wind direction was south-westerly with an average speed of 16 kmph.
The places that recorded showers were Bhopal City 2.2 mm, Khargone 45.4 mm, Malanjkhand 31.0 mm, Narmadapuram 25.0 mm, Pachmarhi 16.0 mm, Mandla 16.0 mm, Betul 10.2 mm, Ujjain 10.0 mm, Bhopal 9.4 mm, Narsinghpur 9.0 mm, Bhopal City 7.3 mm, Damoh 6.0 mm, Khandwa 5.6 mm, Indore 3.3 mm, Sidhi 3.2 mm, Jabalpur 3.0 mm, Raisen 3.0 mm, Naogaon 3.0 mm, Datia 2.8 mm, Chhindwara 2.0 mm, Seoni 1.8 mm, Rewa 1.8 mm, Dhar 1.5 mm, Sagar 1.2 mm, Guna 1.0 mm, Gwalior 0.4 mm, Ratlam trace and Satna recorded trace of rain.
In the forecast for Bhopal on Sunday, there would be cloudy sky with thunder and light rain. A possibility of thunder showers was underlined for Bhopal division.
