Drunk, two criminals stab brothers in Ratibad; arrested

BHOPAL: Two brothers, who were sitting outside their home, were first interrogated and then stabbed by two inebriated unidentified bike-borne accused in Ratibad locality on Monday.
Police said that the complainant Sandeep Ratre stays with his brother Jitendra in Prem Nagar Colony in Ratibad. The brothers work as daily wagers in the area.
Officials said that on Monday around 7 am, when they were sitting outside the home on chairs, twodrunk unidentified bike-borne youths approached them and started asking questions about them.
Cops said, when the brothers protested and countered why they were asking too many questions without any reason, the accused started hurling abuses at them.
Soon, a verbal spat began, after which one of the accused took out a knife and stabbed Sandeep’s thigh and Jitendra’s back. After that the two accused vanished from the spot.
Acting on the brothers’ complaint, a case on charges of voluntarily causing hurt was registered against the two unidentified accused and CCTV cameras fitted close to the spot were scanned to identify them.
The accused were arrested later.
They have been identified as Sonu Maran and Prince Singh, both habitual offenders.
During investigation, the accused revealed that they were in inebriated condition and got angry when the two brothers argued. Further investigations are underway in the case.
