Jabalpur: Search for accused involved in a theft at a minister, Sanjay Pathak's bungalow in Jabalpur town a week ago, led cops to crack a murder case that was committed more than two years ago.
Now, thieves are arrested, stolen goods recovered and murder mystery, which remained unresolved for more than two years was also solved, police said.
Deepak Tripathi, resident of Singhuli village in the district went missing on February 18 in 2014.

Deepak's wife Ranu Tripathi, now murder accused, lodged a missing person complaint. Shortly afterwards, octogenarian father of Deepak Tripathi moved a petition before high court and alleged that his daughter-in-law might be involved in his son reported missing.
Majhgawan police station in-charge Shabana Parvez said, "On August 10, a complaint of theft at a farmhouse of minister Sanjay Pathak in Paraswada area was lodged. We began investigations and during course of investigations four people who worked at the farmhouse Munna Shukla, Ravi Gotiyan, Sunil Kol and Ashok Yadav were arrested, they informed stolen goods were kept in the house of Ranu Tripathi in Sighuli village. Accused Shukla was friend of Ranu and goods were recovered from her place. It turned out Ranu Tripathi, who reported missing person report for her husband two years ago was involved in the murder."
"When interrogated, Shukla confessed to his involvement in murder of Deepak and dumping his body in Mandla district," Parvez said. The body was traced and local police cremated it after no one claimed it," the police officer said. "Apart from theft, both Munna Shukla and Ranu Tripathi were booked for the murder and arrested," she said.
