Controversy erupts over quality of laddus at MP's Devi Dham Salkanpur

BHOPAL: A new controversy has surfaced over the quality of laddus being sold as prasad at the famous Devi Dham Salkanpur in Madhya Pradesh.

For years, devotees have been receiving laddus made from gram flour, prepared and sold by the members of the Madhya Pradesh Livelihood Mission.

However, recent complaints regarding the cleanliness and quality of the prasad have led to a formal request for the removal of the stall from the temple premises.

On September 23, the temple committee filed an application with the Sehore district collector and superintendent of police, calling for the prasad counter to be shut down.

Temple Trust President Mahesh Upadhyay told the media that they have received complaints that the laddus are not up to standard, and in light of this, they have asked the administration to take action.

The controversy has caused a stir among the devotees, but the organisation which manages the prasad counter has denied all allegations.

They said laddus are made with complete purity.

They prepare the gram flour themselves and use Nova Ghee to ensure the highest quality.

She further warned that closing the stall would result in significant financial losses for the women involved in the initiative.

This comes amid ongoing scrutiny surrounding prasad quality at various temples, including the unresolved controversy at Tirupati Balaji temple.
