BHOPAL: Cops in Raisen said they are looking into ‘legal options’ for taking action, a day after a video showing a few people drinking liquor in a government vehicle of a minister went viral.
In a video which is said to be of a place near Satlapur in Raisen district that had gone viral on various social media platforms, a few people are seen drinking liquor in a vehicle with the registration number MP 02 AV 6452.
Local residents had shot the video.
When contacted over the issue, Raisen SP Monika Shukla said, “We are taking legal opinions from officials in order to take action”.
“Action would be taken as per the available legal provisions. In instances where cases under Section 34 B of the Excise Act are registered, there need to be evidences such as breathalyser tests, etc. Whatever legal action is available would be taken”, the SP added.
The vehicle as per the registration number is owned by the government’s state garage. It is said to be allocated to health minister Prabhuram Choudhary.
Choudhary could not be contacted to comment over the issue despite text messages and calls. However, while talking to local media organisations, he has claimed that he is unaware of any such incident.
