Major rejig, 20 IPS officers transferred across state

Bhopal: In a major reshuffle the Madhya Pradesh government on Monday transferred 20 IPS officers, including several DIGs, Additional Commissioners of Police (ACPs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs).Fresh postings were announced for DIGs in seven ranges — Chhatarpur, Balaghat, Chhindwara, Indore Rural, Bhopal Rural, Ratlam and Sagar — besides replacements of Additional Commissioners of Police (Crime and Headquarters) in Indore and Bhopal. Vijay Kumar Khatri has been made DIG of Chhatarpur Range, Vineet Kumar Jain DIG of Balaghat, Manoj Kumar Singh DIG of Indore Rural, Rakesh Kumar Singh DIG of Chhindwara, Rajesh Singh DIG of Bhopal Rural and Shashindra Chauhan DIG of Sagar Range.Nimish Agarwal has been shifted to Ratlam Range, while Hemant Chauhan of SCRB has been moved to Rewa Range.Several officers have been attached to Police Headquarters or special organizations. Lalit Shakyaver, DIG Chhatarpur, and Sunil Kumar Pandey, DIG Sagar, have been posted to PHQ. Mukesh Kumar Srivastava, DIG Balaghat, has been sent to the Human Rights Commission, while Om Prakash Tripathi, DIG Bhopal Rural, takes charge of the State Armed Force Central Region. Manoj Kumar Singh, DIG Ratlam, has been shifted to the Lokayukta organization. Manoj Kumar Srivastava, Additional CP (Crime and Headquarters) Indore, has been posted as DIG of the Police Research and Training Center, Indore. Monika Shukla, DIG Railway Police, PHQ, has been appointed as Additional CP for Bhopal City D Kalyan Chakravarty, DIG Chhindwara, has been brought to PHQ.At the SP level, changes were effected in Ashoknagar and Dhar districts. Rajiv Kumar Mishra has been posted as SP Ashoknagar, while Mayank Awasthi takes charge as SP Dhar.The order also addressed delayed postings of officers who were promoted earlier this year. Manoj Kumar Singh, then SP of Dhar, and Vineet Kumar Jain, then SP of Ashoknagar, were promoted to DIG rank on January 1, 2025, but continued as SPs for the next eight months. With Monday's reshuffle, Singh moves to Indore Rural Range as DIG, while Jain takes charge of Balaghat Range.DIG Balaghat Mukesh Kumar Srivastava was among those removed in the reshuffle. Another officer moved out of field duty was DIG D. Kalyan Chakravarty, who was part of the Special Investigation Team probing the case involving Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah, who had made controversial remarks against Colonel Sofia Qureshi.Meanwhile, DIG Rajesh Singh Chandel, who had a short stint at Rewa Range, has been brought back to Bhopal. Sources said his transfer was driven by family considerations.
