BHOPAL: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday launched its ground probe in Bhopal, visiting the alleged crime scene and recording statements of the victim’s family.
Sources said a team from the CBI’s Special Crime (SC)-3 unit visited the residence of Samarth, where Twisha was allegedly found dead under suspicious circumstances, and carried out a spot inspection.
Officials reportedly examined the layout of the house and examined the sequence of events as part of the initial phase of investigation.
The CBI team also recorded statements of Twisha Sharma’s family members at a government guest house in the cantonment area, where investigators questioned them regarding the circumstances leading to her death, earlier complaints, and their allegations surrounding the case, sources said.
Meanwhile, the local police formally handed over the case diary, forensic records, postmortem documents, witness statements, digital evidence and other investigation-related papers to the central agency after the Supreme Court transferred the probe to the CBI.
