Woman, aide attack lover with knife after marriage refusal in Bhopal
BHOPAL: A 28-year-old man was allegedly attacked with a knife by his girlfriend and her friend in Gandhi Nagar area on Wednesday after he reportedly refused to marry her. He sustained serious injuries on his head and hand in the attack. Gandhi Nagar police registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused and launched a search for them.
According to police, the complainant, Shadab Khan, a resident of Gondipura in Gandhi Nagar, works in a private job and was in a relationship with a woman from Nishatpura area. Police said the woman’s husband had died earlier and she had been staying with Shadab at his house in Gondipura for the past two to three days.
Police said an argument broke out between the two on the morning of May 20 over marriage. The woman was allegedly pressuring Shadab to marry her. During the dispute, Shadab allegedly assaulted her and asked her to leave the house.
According to police, around 1 pm the same day, the woman returned to Gondipura along with her friend Amjad. The two allegedly abused and assaulted Shadab. During the altercation, Amjad allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked him.
Shadab suffered deep injuries on his head and hand and was seriously injured in the attack. Police said the woman also assaulted Shadab during the incident. After carrying out the attack, both accused fled from the spot.
Locals rushed the injured man to a hospital for treatment, while police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident.
Police said a case under sections related to attempt to murder and assault has been registered and efforts are on to trace the accused.
