Balasore: A student in Bhadrak district, who scored 86.5% in the HSC exam on Thursday, drowned on Friday. The incident occurred in Shrirampur village under Charampa panchayat.
Chandan Mohapatra, a student of Bandhagaon Nodal High School, had brought joy and hope to his family members after the Class X results were declared on Thursday by the
Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. He obtained 519 marks out of 600.
However, their joy was sort-lived as Chandan drowned while bathing in a nearby pond on Friday morning.
Though people present at the spot rescued him and rushed him to the district headquarters hospital, he was declared dead.
