Bhubaneswar: Several places in the state on Friday experienced overcast skies or light rain under the influence of
Cyclone Fengal, which formed over the Bay of Bengal, said an IMD report. The cyclonic storm is likely to move west-northwestwards and cross the north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram on Saturday afternoon.
Chhatrapur recorded the highest 12.8 mm of rainfall in the state followed by Gopalpur with 10.3 mm. The city received 0.3 mm of rainfall amid an overcast sky.
IMD forecast said isolated places in some districts will continue to get light to moderate rain till Monday. On Saturday, light to moderate rain may occur at isolated places in five Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, and Keonjhar districts.
Koraput recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 9.4 degrees Celsius on Friday, followed by Phulbani at 10.5C.TNN
