Man arrested for cousin’s murder

Rourkela: A man was arrested by Koida police in Bonai sub-division of Sundargarh district on Friday for allegedly killing his cousin brother by hitting his head with a wooden stick on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Sadhu Munda (45) of Sargigad village and the accused is Rui Munda (35).On Thursday evening, Sadhu’s sister Raimuni Munda and her husband Mansingh Munda had gone to attend a village feast. While returning, they quarrelled in front of Sadhu’s house and Mansingh started beating Raimuni. When Sadhu saw Raimuni being beaten by her husband, he came out of his house and opposed Mansingh and beat him up. When Mansingh’s younger brother Rui Munda (35), a neighbour of Sadhu Munda, saw his elder brother Mansingh being beaten by Sadhu, he came out of his house and hit Sadhu’s head with a wooden stick.On Friday morning, Koida police seized the body and sent it for autopsy. Sadhu’s wife lodged an FIR in Koida police station against Rui for killing her husband.
