Trailer driver stuck in cabin after hitting truck, dies

Keonjhar: The driver of a trailer was killed after it hit a truck from behind on Jhumpura Bypass on NH-20 early on Friday morning. The identity of the deceased is yet to be identified.According to sources, after the trailer, coming from Keonjhar side, struck the truck from behind, its driver got trapped in the cabin. Upon receiving information, Jhumpura police went to the spot and rescued the driver with the help of the fire brigrade. After trying for hours, the fire brigade had to cut the cabin open with the help of a machine-cutter. The driver was taken to Jhumpura Community Health Centre, where a doctor declared him dead. Police seized both the vehicles and started an investigation.After the accident, traffic was disrupted on the road for some time.
