Chandigarh: A Sector 37 resident was allegedly duped of Rs 55 lakh in a stock investment scam run via a WhatsApp group.
Police said the victim invested Rs 54.63 lakh through a fake app after being lured by a group member. When he sought withdrawal, he was asked to pay Rs 11.3 lakh as charges. On refusal, he realised the fraud and filed a complaint. Case registered; probe on.
