The pension would be like any other social security pensions including old age samman allowance, widow pension, disabled pension and Ladli Social Security Allowance Scheme and pension for the eunuchs and dwarfs in the state.
Development is significant, as the state of Haryana has a significant number of aged unmarried boys who could not be married on account of skewed sex ratio in the state. Even those who had limited resources of livelihood could not be married on account of unemployment and shrinking of agriculture land in the state, would also be benefited with the new scheme.
Sharing the details of the scheme on Friday at a press conference at Chandigarh, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar informed that the pension benefits would be given to those having annual income of less than Rs. 1.80 lakh.
He further shared that under this scheme, the second category will be those widower in the age group of 40-60 years who have an annual income limit of Rs 3 lakh. All such people will also get the same pension benefits.
"This pension scheme will benefit around 71,000 people and an amount of Rs 240 crore annually will be spent for giving these benefits," said the CM.
Discussing some other issues, CM also confirmed that the process of regularizing around 2000 irregular colonies in the state has been initiated.
The CM further shared that the government has decided to withdraw the cases registered against SC community people. Divulging more details in this regard, he said that in the year 2017, an agitation was held in which 54 cases were registered against these people. "Around 117 were arrested and several were named in the FIRs. State has now decided to withdraw all these cases, provided the offences are not heinous in nature.
